Good day my pupils and students, today you'll know how to solve problems on ratio. Ratio is not hard to operate, but just to pay attention to my own lesson. Let me tell you, in mathematics everything is easy that is why you always have deferent examples to follow up, but students and pupils in Nigeria always refused to follow their teacher's method, that is why some still get it hard to understand mathematics.
Teacher will solved questions on the board with examples still pupils and students will not used the instructor's examples.. So if you want to understand mathematics you must read harder and do not forget to follow your teacher's method/examples.
From equivalent ratio by multiplying/dividing each part by the same none-zero number, Ratios can also then be expressed in their simplest form. This shows that, to solve ratios problems you must always obtained the equivalent ratio by multiplying/dividing each part by the same number, 2,3,5,7, .......
Examples
1. Ratios 20k to N2.00

   = 20 : 200
     20            200
----------- : -----------
    200           20
    20
---------
   20

 = 1
 ( 20 x 1 = 20 )
   also
   200
----------
   20
   = 10
because ( 10 x 20 = 200)
 There ratio 20k to 200 = 1 : 10
Hope this cleared, just divide the smallest number by its self first before the biggest one. First i divided the smallest number first ( 20 ) then i used the same 20 as the divisor to 200.
2. Ratio 3 months to 1 year
  = 3 months to 12 months
  = 3: 12
    3
-------- = 1
    3

because 3 x 1 = 3
   also

    12
---------- = 4
     3
Therefore Ratio 3 months to 1 year  = 1:4
 Exercise
Find the following ratios in the simplest forms
1. 25k to 20k
2. 12 min. to 1h
3. 9kg to 27kg
4. 8cm to 12cm
5.600g to 2kg
6. 15mL to 1L
       SOLUTION
1.  Ratio 25k to 20k
        20 : 25

            20
=      -----------
            25

            25
 =   ------------
            20

   20/ 5 =  4
   25 / 5 = 5
Therefore  ratio 25k to 20k = 4 : 5
the common divisor of 25 and 20 is (5)
2.  Ratio 12 min. to 1h
    = 12 min to 60 min

   = 12 : 60
   12/12 = 1
   60/12 = 5
Therefore ratio 12 min. to 1h = 1 : 5
the common divisor of 12  and 60 is (12)
In the second examples, 1h = 60 minutes, do not forget 60 minutes make 1hour.,hope you get me.
3.Ratio  9kg to 27kg

 = 9 : 27

             9
 =    ----------
           27

        27
= ---------
        9
   9/9 = 1

   27 / 9 = 3
 Therefore Ratio  9kg to 27kg = 1 : 3
4. Ratio 8cm to 12cm
   =  8 : 12
    8 / 4 = 2

   12 / 4 = 3

Therefore, ratio 8cm to 12cm = 2 : 3

5. Ratio 600g to 2kg
   =  600 : 2000

 600 / 200 = 3
 2000 / 200 = 100
 Therefore ,600g to 2kg = 3 : 100
Note 2kg is equivalent  to 2000g , because 1000g = 1kg
6. 15mL to 1L
    =  15 : 1000
    = 15 / 5 = 3

   = 1000/ 5 = 20
 Therefore, 15mL to 1L = 3 : 200
Note : 1 letter is equivalent to 1000 , 1L = 1000
Now solve these
1. 10cm to 5cm
2. 5 days to 5 weeks
3. 1.25 to 5
5. 15min. to 1h
6. 300g to 4kg
You can only solve the above class work if only you follow my examples that all... If you have any question puts them in the comments box....
